The Student Affairs Office of SCE, under the administration of Students Affairs Department and the Party Committee of SCE, is dedicated to students' education, management and offering services to students, and its scope of work covers the enrollment and employment of undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students, routine management, scientific and technological innovation, organization and development of the Party Committee and the Communist Youth League (CYL), creation of campus culture, mental health education, evaluation and granting of scholarship, student loans and financial aid to poor students.
The Students Affairs Office now has 21 full-time and part-time counselors, all of whom are the members of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Upholding the principle of “prioritizing moral education to propel students-oriented education”, the office backs up the top priorities of the school, builds a team of quality counselors with the team culture of “solidarity, democracy, efficiency and happiness”, adopts “scientific, professional and meticulous” work methods, increases work efficiency to better serve students and manage student affairs, strengthens the ideological and political education for students, improves students’ moral quality, cultural literacy, physical and mental health as well as the abilities of organization, management, leadership and innovation so as to realize the objectives of “avoiding vicious incidents, making achievements and promoting the development of organizations and individuals”.
Cultivating a group of counselors with theoretical knowledge and excellent management abilities and a team of backbone students, namely Party members and student leaders with strong work abilities, is essential to increase the efficiency of student management and improve students’ comprehensive qualities.

The SCE constantly puts forward innovative ideas in cultivating students, paying attention to both students' professional knowledge and practice ability. In consideration of the needs for students' maturing and progress, we promote the combination of in-class teaching and extracurricular activities, establishing group learning organizations as a platform to help students continuously explore learning and innovation. We also actively promote the construction of campus culture and students' social practice activities to improve the quality education for young students and enhance their comprehensive abilities.
